Heat generation and resource conservation through waste wood recycling

When is energy generation sustainable? When it is socially acceptable, conserves resources in the long term and protects the climate. In addition to wind, water and photovoltaics, biomass in particular is a very good energy source. By burning high-quality wood chips from old and waste wood at more than 1,000 degrees Celsius, for example, biomass cogeneration plants can not only generate environmentally friendly electricity without producing additional greenhouse gases, but also heat.

Reduction of various input materials to a specific output size defined by the subsequent processes. The reduction is usually carried out in two stages - pre-shredding and re-shredding.

Systems for reliable and continuous material availability between the individual process steps are an elementary component in large waste wood processing and recycling plants. The important link between the individual process steps in your processing plant is the conveyor technology. Depending on your requirements, we tailor the modular systems and variants in size, length and performance to your processes.

Various screening and separating techniques filter out impurities from the pre- and re-shredded material and guarantee high availability of your plants. On the one hand, parts with excess length must be filtered out, and on the other hand, light and heavy fractions must be reliably separated. This is the prerequisite for optimum output quality.

Pre-shredding

Single and double shaft shredders for first step shredding

For the processing up to the substitute fuel in combined heat and power plants, the waste wood must first be pre-shredded. Machines with a high throughput are required for this demanding process.

Depending on the material, we offer you powerful single and double-shaft shredders for this purpose, which work extremely reliably even in tough continuous operation.

VAZ - Shredder for reusable material

The durable and robust single-shaft shredders of the compact VAZ series are also suitable for the pre-shredding of a wide variety of materials, such as wood, plastics, paper and other recyclables.

VVZ - Pre-shredder

Our Vecoplan VVZ  double-shaft shredder pre-shreds difficult and contaminated materials containing impurities, such as domestic, bulky and commercial waste, production residues, waste wood, straw and root wood.

VPC - Pallet crusher

For the pre-shredding of large-volume and bulky components such as boxes and pallets made of wood, we have developed the Vecoplan Pallet Crusher VPC 1600.

VRZ – Pre-shredder ripping system

Instead of conventional cutting tools, our VRZ shredder has sickle-shaped ripping teeth, which rip up and tear even bulky materials.

Re-shredding

Processing pre-shredded material into separable material with a powerful shredder

When waste wood or residual wood is processed for use as substitute fuel in combined heat and power plants, the material must meet certain requirements with regard to the degree of shredding. With our high-performance shredders for secondary shredding, you can process pre-crushed waste wood into material suitable for separation.

With the targeted slow-running shredding, we bring your material to the desired size through the appropriate combination of cutting tools, counter-knife variants and perforated screens.

VAZ - Shredder for reusable material

The Vecoplan VAZ shredder for reusable materials is designed for a wide range of applications. Due to its equipment options and resulting throughput capacity, you can also use it for re-shredding in material preparation, for example in thermal recycling.

VNZ - Re-shredder

With our VNZ series, you get high-performance secondary shredders in a robust design, which have been specially developed for the re-shredding of pre-crushed material to produce separable material for value and material use.
